Interlude City is a story of human transformation fueled by personal setbacks and historical shifts. The story takes place on the island of Patmos, where many civilizations have left their mark over the millennia. The script is inspired by the location due to the history and isolation from the rest of the world. The island is home to the ancient monastery of St. John the Theologian, which has stood for 1000 years and serves as a symbol of mystery, unity and spirituality.
The characters face a myriad of existential questions that society has failed to answer for as along as the monastery has stood. Who is the creator of life? How does religion and faith correlate in postmodernity? Is memory powerful enough to reshape the present? Through a process of individual curses and recollection, the main characters reach meaningful answers that enable them to continue on their personal journeys.
